    Kemp's Ridely turtles are observed mainly in temperate and tropical waters of the western North Atlantic. The nesting sites are located in the Gulf of Mexico where several hundred females climb ashore to lay the same time and on the same beach.

This is the smallest species of sea turtle.

Its mass nesting behaviour is known as 'arribada', in which several hundred females come ashore to lay their eggs at the same time, on the same beach.

Kemp's Ridley turtle is a species in critical danger of extinction according to the IUCN Red List.
