Dermochelys coriacea

The largest of all the sea turtles has some very unusual characteristics.

In fact, it has neither claws nor a hard shell, and its pseudo-carapace has a leathery appearance. Its mouth and oesophagus are lined with keratin spines that allow it to shred its prey while expelling the seawater it swallows.

Diet: Carnivorous with a preference for gelatinous organisms like jellyfish

Weight: 400 kg (record weight 916 kg)
